What sold last week & Ladies Night on Thursday

A great week here at Offbeat Avenue!
It has picked up as people start to come back from their vacations.

In the midst of listing, we're also getting ready for Thursday's Ladies Night Out showing, always fun!
If you are in the Central MA area come on down...5-9, with goodie bags for the first 150, and a fashion show later in the evening.

1950's Vintage Cannon Hat Box Aqua Blue & White Starburst Stripes

What a beauty! It looked like a giant piece of swirl candy, and the center of the top had a purple velvet bow. Not sure if she collects hats or boxes or both, but this went to a good home.
Lots more hat boxes to list, let us know if you are looking for something special....a certain color, certain size, or certain vintage retailer.

Hat boxes are not only good for storing hats, but for all sorts of storage! They really come in handy for small Christmas ornaments or other holidays tiny things. They are great for old letters, or photos. I used to use one for my mailing supplies: return address stickers, tape, ribbon, bags, etc.

Vintage Silver Plated Slotted Spoons (4)

These were a mystery to us as we had never seen anything like them,
and couldn't find much out about them online.
In the end, the buyer wanted to add them to her absinthe collection and they will work well for that.
We billed them as butter spoons for corn; lemon for tea spoons; or absinthe sugar spoons.
As with most antique or vintage items that are considered obsolete, there is always a new use for them if you have some imagination! These were really cool & different spoons!

Vintage Men's Wingtip Spectator Shoes with Stays Jazz Fashion Genuine Oak Leather Sole

What can we say about these that the picture doesn't? These are just cool, baby!
They are very Boardwalk Empire, and they didn't last very long in the store.
Nice to see how vintage fashion comes back around.

Vintage Speidel Blue Croco Grain Leather Watch Band Dead Stock in Box

Nice vintage dead stock watch band, I think we have a few more of these in different styles left.
Our customer said her watch would fit nicely, it's going to make a great piece!

Vintage Bakelite Cream Corn Cluster of Chunky Buttons Art Deco Bubbles (11pc.)

Another item that was quick to leave us!
These were adorable, looked like little yo-yo's or hamburgers :)
Not sure if they are going in a button collection or if they will be used in a vintage sewing project, but if so, we'd love to see the finished piece!

We have loads of buttons, so let us know what you need or check back to the site as more get put up.
A few years back, we bought out an entire old store of Schwanda buttons so if you're looking for those, we may be able to come up with multiples of what you need.

Vintage Old Mickey Mouse Alarm Clock Walt Disney Productions Bradley Hong Kong

Great Disney piece from the 50's, still works too! And these vintage ones will surely wake you up!

That's what went out the door this week! Again, if you are in Central MA on Thursday, stop by to the center of town and partake in the Ladies Night festivities.
Come on by and say hello, we will have some specials going on at our booth, we have a gift certificate & earrings up for their raffle, and we also contributed little OA gift bags for the larger goodie bags being handed out to the first 150 lucky ladies.
